Complications that might occur are:
- Cardiogenic shock.
Patient perspires, is very pale, cold extremities, agitated state, dyspnea (SOB), systolic arterial hypertension (under 80 mmHg). Death occurs in 60%. - Progressive cardiogenic shock.
Arterial pressure lowers gradually. Progressive decline of vital signs. - Septal rupture which causes cardiac insufficiency
- Rhythm disruptions; bradycardia, sinoatrial block, atrioventricular block, intraventricular block, tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation which is a major cause of death.
- Pericarditis, thromboembolism, left ventricle aneurysm.
